Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Sona, a spaced-repetition flashcard app operated by Mikoriza Network Ltd (Company No. 17203147) ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Sona, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Sona.

The service

Sona lets you create, study, and share flashcard decks using spaced repetition (FSRS). Features include AI-assisted card generation, quiz modes, spoken-audio playback, and deck sharing. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. You must provide an accurate email address. You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account; see our Privacy Policy for exactly what that does and doesn't remove.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Sona to store or share content that's illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or is intended to harass or harm others; to attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to Sona or other users' accounts; or to abuse shared features — the AI generation and spoken-audio quotas, or public deck sharing — in a way that degrades the service for other users. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

Your content

You own the decks and cards you create. By making a deck public or sharing it with specific people, you grant those users a license to view it and, for public decks, to fork (copy) it into their own account — a fork is fully independent from that point on and is not affected by later changes to the original. Making a deck private again, or deleting it, stops new people from viewing or forking it, but doesn't retroactively affect copies others have already made. You're responsible for making sure you have the right to share whatever you put in a deck.

AI-generated content

AI card generation, transcription, and spoken-audio playback are provided using third-party AI models. Generated content may be inaccurate or unsuitable for your use — you review and approve every AI-generated card before it's added to a deck, and you're responsible for the accuracy of anything you accept. We don't guarantee the availability, accuracy, or quality of AI-generated content.

Plans and billing

Sona offers a Free plan and a paid Pro plan; current pricing and limits are shown on our Pricing page. Web subscriptions are billed and managed through Stripe's hosted checkout and billing portal — you can cancel, switch billing period, or update your payment method there at any time. Downgrading from Pro to Free never deletes, archives, or restricts access to anything you already created — your existing decks and review history keep working exactly as before, even past your plan's deck limit or per-deck card limit. These limits only ever block creating new decks or cards beyond them; Free plan limits additionally apply to AI card generation, AI audio processing, high-quality spoken audio, and media storage beyond the free allowance. If you subscribe through the mobile app, billing is instead handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play, subject to their own terms.

Termination

You may stop using Sona and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, or discontinue Sona altogether — if we do the latter, we'll give you reasonable advance notice where practical.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Sona is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee that Sona will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your specific learning goals. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Sona.

Changes to these Terms

If we make a material change to these Terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Sona after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales (United Kingdom), without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
