A Daily Study Reminder

Turn on a daily reminder in Settings and Sona nudges you at the time you pick. It's on the web now, and the iOS and Android apps get the in-app setting with their next update.

Sona can now remind you to study once a day, at a time you choose. Pick a time in your settings, and if you haven't studied yet that day, a notification arrives on your phone.

Off until you turn it on

The reminder is off by default. On the web, open Settings, find Daily reminder in the Profile section, tick Remind me to study every day and set the time. In the iOS and Android apps the same setting lives under Profile → Daily reminder, and it arrives with their next update.

It knows where your streak stands

If you're on a streak, the notification tells you how many days it has reached and nudges you to keep it going. If you don't have one, it simply asks whether you'd like to study a little today.

Reviewing cards or finishing a quiz counts as studying, and if you've already done either today, nothing is sent. Sona's study day rolls over at 04:00, so a session after midnight still counts toward the same day.

Your timezone, not your phone's

The reminder time follows the timezone saved on your account, which you can change in Profile on the web. If your phone's timezone is different, the app will notice and offer to switch to the device's timezone. It never changes it for you.

Just a notification

It's a push notification and nothing more: it doesn't add an entry to the notification list or touch the unread badge. The web has the setting, but browsers don't get the notification. It goes to your phone, as long as you're signed in to the app and have allowed notifications for Sona.

Nothing else changes

The reminder is part of the Free plan. Study, every Quiz mode, Browse, offline access, and sync stay unlimited, same as before.

You can already set up the reminder on the web and receive the notifications on your phone. Managing it directly in the iOS and Android apps arrives with their next update. If you're still building the habit, When Your Review Queue Gets Out of Hand is a good place to start.
